Being budget savvy...

Right now I'm trying to come up with a budget. I have never lived by a budget, only by how much I had left after all my bills were paid, which I have to say has been a very poor way of living, so after getting a new job, I want to be financially smart. Being financially smart means getting rid of my credit cards and being prepared for having to pay back my student loans starting in November. That new bill coming due is going to be a bit scary, so I have to learn to budget now, get into a groove with it, and be prepared for once!

In preparation for this, I am looking at my current expenses and trying to find ways to reduce them. The first step I've decided to take on that front is to look for roommates! I haven't lived with a roommate in a while, so the idea of moving in with someone or several someones I don't know is a little risky feeling, but meeting new people and making new friends is always a great thing. Right now I have a lead on a beautiful sounding home in Chapel Hill. This house comes with 3 other roommates and the chance to cut my rent expense in half. I hope they are just great, and that we can all be the best of friends. I'm meeting them on Friday and touring the house, wish me luck!

NEW JOB!!

I have a new job! On September 26th, 2007, I will officially be the Record Archive Specialist at Stiefel Laboratories located in the Research Triangle Park. Stiefel is a dermatology focused global pharmaceutical corporation that is planning to make the RTP office their records management hub. With offices in over 30 countries, I have my work cut out for me. I'm so excited!

I love you, Stiefel Laboratories! ;)

Hopefully this will be a very happy and successful relationship that we are starting this month, hehehe.

Quote of the Day - Yesterday

While talking to my friend Heather about our weekends and how we really didn't feel up to being at work after having an extra day off (funny how long weekends don't get you rested and ready for the work week but make it more painful to go back) she told me she was getting a headache. Actually, this is exactly what she said, "It feels like I walked all over my head." Because I started laughing hysterically in response to this comment, she went on to talk about how that could have been accomplished literally, making the situation and my laughing fit worse, hahaha.

It's funny to think that this isn't a new idea...people have been walking on their own head for a while it seems ;)

Really, who knew?

Thank goodness for great co-workers, how would you ever make it through the day without them?
